Kay Hanson joined the United States Army after her high school graduation in 1998. She did her basic training at Fort Jackson, SC. She completed her AIT school to become a 55B ammunition supply specialist at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. Her veteran status came from spending just short of a year from 1990 to 1991 in Saudi Arabia during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Her sister Rosonna, is also a veteran. She was serving at the same time in the United States Navy in the United Arab Emirates working in Aviation. She and her sister have the utmost respect and value for all who served in the military.
